I own two of these and both chopper bowls have shattered. The stem to the bowl sheds plastic particles into the food, undetected until someone bites it. My search for a replacement has ended in a corporate maze.
I'm German and I always had a Braun Multimix at home. Here in the US I went for the Multiquick and I'm not missing anything! Rather the opposite, the whisk is great! And the hand-blender shaft with its "innovative antisplashing design" really works a lot better than the one that comes with the Multimix set. It feels very nice to hold (ergonomical handle) and is plenty powerful for the jobs at hand.
This hand held blender does just what I need it to do. I have not tried all the different things that came with it but the chopper worked just fine. I needed to chop some cat food fine for a sick cat and it did the job great.
I recently purchased this product and am so pleased with it. I no longer have to take out my food processor and deal with blending several batches and cleaning the food processor. I now just plug in my Braun blender and place the blender into the same bowl/pot that is on the stove and chop, liquify or blend. I then simply rinse the blade or put it in the dishwasher. No extra bowls to clean and it does a fantastic job. Very powerful. My sister (who is the real chef) is going to get one as well since I can't stop talking about it. Excellent to make soups.

My husband bought the Braun Professional Hand Blender for himself; he loves to cook and the blender is his newest tool in the kitchen! He loves it and suggested we buy it for our daughter who is also a magificent cook - for her family AND her clients to whom she works as a personal chef. She, too, loves this product. Efficiently packaged with very useful attachments, we've enjoyed our use of this appliance for the last few weeks.
The speed is adjustable with a large, easily-manipulated dial atop the wand. The turbo button seems to double whatever the current speed setting is, which makes sense since this is an AC motor. The whisk and drink blenders work very well at their individual tasks, though the whisk is pretty big (depending on your application).
I really really like the fact that the attachments are removable for cleaning; our old one lacked that feature and it was a real pain. We haven't used the chopper yet, but it is nice that this one unit replaced two older instruments.
The wall mount will hold only the wand (with either the blender or whisk attached) and the cord. The mount is also lacking in the design department, as the screw holes are somewhat difficult to access with a straight shot. My only other beef is that the parts don't nest for easier storage.
All in all, a very good first impression and welcome addition to the kitchen.
I was very disappointed to see that crucial inner parts were made of plastic. The lower hand blender part had a broken plastic part after a year of moderate using ( I mostly use it for blending soups). The mixer bowl is still working fine. I cannot ask for replacement because the warranty year is over... Research more before you buy this one.
This is a powerful, versatile, and easy to clean piece of equipment. The cord is a good length and does not seem to get in my way. It has the power to crush ice, make good hummus, and blend just about anything. However, as I note below, it is NOT invulnerable, and that is to be expected.
I purchased this to replace one that I had for a few years and burnt out (my fault, not Braun's). This one has a larger chopper than the old one, which is nice. It functions well as a small food processor.
I do wish the smaller, higher button were the one that went to full speed, as that one is the more intuitive to press. If I want to use the variable speed feature, I have to make a mental effort to press the small button, and that is poor design. I also wish it still came with the more slender, stainless steel blending attachment. However, I still have the one from the one I burnt out, and it still fits.
I looked long and hard for this model and am very pleased with the performance. Do not be tempted by cheaper, lower powered hand blenders. This makes it so easy to make my husband's favorite potato soup and to blend cooked puddings to a smooth consistency and I have only just started to find other uses.
